Funding for surgical equipment approved

The CCRHD Board has approved a $122,800 commitment to Northern Health’s purchase and installation of a new surgical tower at G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel. A surgical tower is essential equipment for surgery encompassing various surgical specialization, and is required for most elective procedures. The new tower will replace one existing tower at the hospital, which has reached its end of life and no longer meets current surgical requirements.

The Board has approved the Regional District’s 2024-2028 financial plan after considering final changes and public commentary received. The total budget stands at $69,811,626, with the total tax requisition set at $32,731,823 (increase of $2,898,543 over the 2023 requisition).

Cariboo Regional District Chair Margo Wagner reflects on 2023

Williams Lake, BC – The bang of the gavel marked the end of the year for the Cariboo Regional District’s board of directors as they closed out their final meeting of 2023. While there remains some work to be wrapped up at the committee level, the group of sixteen directors will not be meeting as a group until January 11, 2024.
