CRD Board on the Road – Interlakes
The regional district’s board will be taking its September 7th and 8th meetings on the road to the Interlakes Community Hall. Community Members are invited to attend the meeting. Residents can also join the Board and delegates from the Tsq’éscen First Nation for a territorial welcome and a tour of the Ice Caves at 2:15 p.m., followed by a meet and greet at 4:00 p.m. at the Community Hall, where coffee and cake will be served.

Solid Waste Management Plan to be completed by end of 2023
Tera Grady, Solid Waste Manager, updated the Board on the Regional District’s efforts to update its solid waste management plan. In early fall, the completed plan will be distributed to Cariboo municipalities for review and feedback. Feedback on the plan will be reviewed by the Solid Waste Management Committee and recommendations made to the Board on next steps, with an aim to secure provincial approval by December 2023.

CRD Board on the Road BBQ in McLeese Lake
A free community barbecue was held at the McLeese Lake Recreation Centre on June 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to allow Board Members to connect with Electoral Area D residents. The Barbecue was made possible because of the Salvation Army of Williams Lake, which supplied volunteers to cook and serve food. A donation will be made to the Salvation Army in recognition of their event support and service to the area.
