Williams Lake, BC – A $7,000 grant from the Williams Lake Community Forest has funded training and new tools and equipment for Central Cariboo Search and Rescue (“CCSAR”). This has helped the organization maintain its critical public safety programs and maintain a high state of readiness.

Voters opt for ten-year fire truck loans in Interlakes and Miocene
Williams Lake, BC – The votes have been counted, and ten-year loans will be taken out to buy new fire trucks in Miocene and Interlakes. In Miocene, the vote tally was 97 to 26 in favour, while in Interlakes the tally was 195 to 34 in favour.

Forest Grove Water System Water Quality Advisory Rescinded
The Cariboo Regional District is advising all residents in Forest Grove that the Water Quality Advisory on October 13th for the Forest Grove Water System has now been rescinded effective immediately. This action was authorized by Interior Health.
All residents may now resume normal water use. The CRD thanks all affected residents for their patience during this advisory.

UBCM Fire Department grant application
The Cariboo Regional District has applied for funding on behalf of its fourteen volunteer fire departments to purchase new equipment and training. Applications for up to $30,000 for each fire department will be submitted to the Union of BC Municipalities to purchase turnout gear, handheld tools, self contained breathing apparatus, and other equipment necessary for fire protection services. On Monday, October 23, 2023 the Cariboo Regional District will be performing work on the Horse Lake water system well and pump. The well will be out of commission for about a 24-hour period starting Monday around noon until Tuesday Oct 24 around noon. During this time, the well will be cleaned and disinfected to maintain safe water supply to the Horse Lake neighbourhood.
