The Agricultural Development Advisory Committee (ADAC), was established in 2018 to be involved in and support projects aimed at promoting public awareness, diversification and growth of the agriculture sector in electoral areas A, B, C and I in the North Cariboo. As of November 19, 2021, the committee is now region wide, covering all electoral areas.
The committee consists of between 5 and 13 members, appointed by resolution of the Cariboo Regional District Board of Directors for a two-year term.
The Committee works in collaboration with related agencies and organizations to further agricultural economic development, address agricultural infrastructure, research and training needs and promote awareness of agriculture's role in the local and regional economy.

Plans and policies impacting agriculture in the region may also be referred to the Agricultural Development Advisory Committee by the Board of Directors, for its consideration and advice.
Since its formation in 2018, the North Cariboo ADAC has worked with the City of Quesnel and the Ministry of Agriculture on the Small-Scale Food Processing and Innovation Hub initiative, as part of the BC Food Hub Network . In addition, the ADAC is providing guidance to the CRD on various topics including the Agricultural Land Reserve, Provincial Meat Slaughter regulations, regional connectivity, and providing input to the Forest Landscape Plan (FLP) and a Land Management Strategy (LMS) survey.

The CRD and ADAC are moving forward with the development of a region-wide Cariboo Agricultural Area Plan (AAP) and new committee members are needed.
Representatives of the agricultural industry from the Central and South Cariboo, as well as Indigenous groups within the region are encouraged to consider serving with the committee and/or suggesting potential candidates. Prospective candidates can will be able to apply online or by printing off the application form and returning to ADAC via email.
The ADAC meets up to 6 times annually. Meetings are open to the public except where the Committee resolves to close a portion of the meeting pursuant to Section 90 of the Community Charter.
