Can emergency crews find your house easily? In the event of an emergency, every second counts. A house number can make the difference in a life-threatening situation.
The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) provides house numbering for all properties within the district but outside of municipal boundaries.
When requesting a house number, be prepared to provide the legal description or property identification number (PID). The proper legal description or PID can be found on the property deed or tax assessment notice.
To assign a new number on large acreages, owners may also be required to provide a drawing showing the location of the house relative to the property boundaries.
New property owners must be prepared to provide proof of ownership.
The Cariboo Regional District has a standardized house numbering sign program with local sign companies. The program is available to all Cariboo-Chilcotin residents.
