Roof snow loads are influenced by elevation, general weather and moisture patterns, slope direction, exposure, roof configuration and wind direction and severity. Overestimation of snow loads can unnecessarily increase the cost of construction.
The basic snow load factor (Cb) is 0.55 for Part 9 buildings and 0.8 for Part 4 buildings.
