The Cariboo Regional recognizes the public health benefits of vaccination programs in reducing illness, disability, and death from community-acquired diseases and will support public health messaging about the importance of vaccines against communicable diseases. Consequently, the Cariboo Regional District requires that all volunteers be fully vaccinated from COVID-19 as per the Cariboo Regional District Mandatory Vaccine Policy. |

The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) oversees 14 volunteer fire departments. All of them are recognized by the Fire Underwriters Survey for insurance purposes.

The Cariboo Regional District has mutual aid agreements with fire departments, municipalities and several First Nations in our region. The agreements allow equipment and manpower from any of the departments to assist neighbouring services in the event of large fires or multiple incidents happening at the same time.

Volunteer fire departments must follow certain replacement schedules for their fire trucks to meet Canadian certification requirements. To meet those requirements, the CRD has a long-term replacement plans for its fire trucks.
