What happens when contamination is identified? |
The CRD issues a Boil Water Notice pursuant to a request from the Drinking Water Officer under Section 14 of the Drinking Water Protection Act. |
How long will a boil water advisory remain in effect? |
Boil water advisories remain in effect until the water system is contamination-free for two consecutive samples. At that time the Drinking Water Officer will request that the advisory be rescinded. |
What happens after a boil water advisory is issued? |
The CRD works with the local Health Authorities to investigate contaminations. |
When will a boil water advisory be lifted? |
In order to lift a boil water advisory, the water system has to be without contamination for 2 (two) consecutive samples. In some circumstances, the Health Authority may have other specific conditions that must be met before the advisory is lifted. |
What should I do if my water system is under a Boil Water Notice? |
Consider using hand sanitizer after washing your hands with tap water. Boil water for a minimum of one minute before:
