What happens when contamination is identified? |
The CRD issues a Boil Water Notice pursuant to a request from the Drinking Water Officer under Section 14 of the Drinking Water Protection Act |
How long will a boil water advisory remain in effect? |
Boil water advisories remain in effect until the water system is contamination-free for three consecutive samples. At that time the Drinking Water Officer will request that the advisory be rescinded. |
What happens after a boil water advisory is issued? |
The CRD works with the local Health Authorities to investigate contaminations. |
When will a boil water advisory be lifted? |
In order to lift a boil water advisory, the water system has to be without contamination for three consecutive samples. In some circumstances, the Health Authority may have other specific conditions that must be met before the advisory is lifted. |
What should I do if my water system is under a Boil Water Notice? |
Consider using hand sanitizer after washing your hands with tap water. Boil water for a minimum of one minute before:
