The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) is directed by the Provincial Health Authority regarding the type and frequency of water quality monitoring it performs.
Bacteria Monitoring |
Bacteriological tests are performed monthly for total coliforms and fecal coliforms. Additional testing may take place when required. The water is considered safe when: no sample contains more than 0 total coliform organisms per 100 ml; no consecutive sample from the same site shows the presence of coliform organisms. Please visit Interior Health or Northern Health for current bacteriological results by water system. |
Chemical and Physical Monitoring |
Water systems are tested annually for chemical and physical properties and assessed for compliance with the Canadian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines. If you would like more information on the chemical and physical monitoring of the water system you are connected to, please call the Environmental Services Department. |
CRD water systems exceed the above requirements. Should these levels not be exceeded, the Cariboo Regional District and Health Authority immediately take corrective actions.
Cariboo Regional District water system test results can be compared to the Canadian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines.
