Immediate Release
The Cariboo Regional District is advising all residents in Alexis Creek that the Boil Water Notice Issued on September 14 for the Alexis Creek Water System has now been rescinded effective immediately.
The initial boil water advisory was issued due to a chlorine pump failure. The malfunctioning pump has been repaired. Water samples were taken on Monday and Tuesday of this week and a Chlorine sample was taken on Wednesday.
All residents may now resume normal water use. Interior Health gave the go ahead this afternoon to lift the advisory, as the two required consecutive test results came back all clear. The CRD would like to thank affected residents for their patience during this advisory. If residents smell chlorine in the water, they are advised to let their taps fun for a few moments and the smell should dissipate.

Drinking Water Public Notification for Alexis Creek Water System Users - Boil Water Advisory
The Cariboo Regional District is advising all water customers on the Alexis Creek Water System that a Boil Water Advisory is in effect immediately September 14th, 2022 until further notice.
The boil water advisory is due to a chlorine pump failure. The CRD is currently working to have this equipment replaced as soon as possible. In the meantime, Interior Health has advised that a Boil Water Advisory be put in place for residents on the water system as a precaution.
The boil water advisory includes several precautionary steps for customers. These include using purchased bottled water or boiled water for drinking, brushing teeth, dishwashing, preparing food, and making ice. Water should come to a roiling boil for one minute, then cool to an appropriate temperature before using.
The advisory will remain in effect until the chlorine pump has been replaced and the Cariboo Regional District and Interior Health are confident the water is safe. Customers will be notified that the advisory has been lifted.
