The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) invites qualified applicants to apply for the permanent, full-time position of GIS Assistant.
Summary: The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in updating the geographic information system (GIS) for the Regional District. The GIS includes a digital cadastral and planimetric map base with a property information database.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in GIS.
- Knowledge and an understanding of ESRI’s ArcGIS products (including but not limited to ArcGIS Server, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS online).
- Minimum 1-2 years’ related experience.
- Related work experience within a local government setting is preferred.
Wage: This is a full-time BCGEU position. The current rate of pay is $29.28 per hour plus benefits. A standard 90-day probationary period will apply, during which the candidate’s suitability for permanent employment will be assessed.
Work Site Location: The successful candidate will operate out of the Cariboo Regional District Williams Lake Office located at Suite D, 180 Third Avenue North, Williams Lake, BC.
Hours of Work: This position works on a 9-day fortnight schedule, working a total of 70 hours bi-weekly Monday through Friday, with every other Friday off. On occasion, the incumbent will be required to work in the CRD’s Emergency Operation Centre.
