The boil water notice issued for the Lac La Hache water system on November 15, 2024 has been rescinded. Users of the system can resume normal water usage as there is no risk to public health.
Residents were advised on November 15th to boil water out of an abundance of caution following connection of the public drinking water system with a new water source, which required distribution lines to be opened up and exposed. Sampling was completed and showed no detectable traces of coliform bacteria, allowing Interior Health to authorize the rescinding of the boil water notice.
At this time, the Lac La Hache drinking water system remains unchlorinated. The Cariboo Regional District is in the final stages of commissioning the chlorination system. Once completed, the drinking water supply will be chlorinated as the method of ongoing disinfection of the water supply.
