Cariboo communities unable to accept donations

Jul 24, 2017

Cariboo Regional District (CRD) communities, including the District of 100 Mile House and the City of Williams Lake, currently do not have the resources to manage donations of goods like food, clothing, and household items. Emergency responders and essential service providers in the region are focused on wildfire suppression and ensuring communities can support returning evacuees.

The Cariboo Regional District, District of 100 Mile House and City of Williams Lake recognize that many people want to help those affected by wildfire and the goodwill is much appreciated. However, donated items may not match up with the needs of affected people. Further, donations require storage and processing. Communities within the Cariboo region are not able to manage this workload at this time.

Specific donations may be needed at a later date. If so, this information will be shared with the community.

In the meantime, please consider making a donation to the BC SPCA, Salvation Army, United Way, Canadian Red Cross or a local charity of your choice.
