Williams Lake, B.C.– The Cariboo Regional District, Ulkatcho First Nation, ?Esdilagh First Nation and Nazko First Nation jointly announced today that the evacuation alerts issued for multiple communities west of the Fraser River have been lifted to all clear.
Evacuation alerts have been lifted for the following areas west of the Fraser River:
An evacuation alert remains for an area northeast of Nazko. See a map of the alert area here: http://bit.ly/2eLwDTF
Additional areas east and west of the Fraser River within the Cariboo Regional District remain on evacuation order or alert. View a searchable online map for current alerts or order here: https://arcg.is/0zvWOq
See the following maps for more detail about the new areas that are all clear:
An evacuation alert or order may need to be re-issued as wildfire activity continues in the area, air quality remains poor and additional areas within the CRD remain on evacuation alert or order.
To ensure public safety, stay out of fire affected areas and obey all warning and hazard signs. Interfering in an active fire area will result in crews ceasing ground and air operations potentially endangering nearby properties.
