Williams Lake, B.C. – Effective immediately, the Cariboo Regional District has issued an evacuation alert for 2,077 properties in the area from Highway 97 West to Michelle Bazaeko Forest Service Road (FSR) area. This includes the communities of Nazko, Baker Creek, Blackwater, Ten Mile Lake, Cinema, Moose Heights and Strathnaver, but only on the west side of Highway 97, with a total of about 2,000 residents impacted.

An Evacuation Alert has been issued to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be required.
Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation; however you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.
