The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) invites qualified applicants to apply for the full-time position of Communications Specialist.
SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Manager of Communications, the Communications Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and management of corporate communications, policies and programs. This includes, but is not limited to developing, designing and editing content for a variety of communication platforms; developing and implementing communications and event plans; regular website maintenance and updates; social media management; advertising; and public engagement activities.
The Communications Specialist works with CRD departments to determine their communication plan requirements and resources and works to support internal communication and public engagement. Work also involves technical skills such as writing, laying out text copy and graphics, and using graphic design software applications. WAGE: This is a full time BCGEU position. The current rate of pay is $30.85 per hour. A standard 90- day probation period will apply.
WORK SITE LOCATION: The successful candidate will operate out of the Cariboo Regional District Williams Lake Office located at, Suite D, 180 3rd Avenue North, Williams Lake, BC.
HOURS OF WORK: The regular hours of work for this position are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend work. As this position is occasionally required to provide communications expertise in an activated Emergency Operations Centre, the incumbent must have the ability to be flexible in their work schedule.
