Career Opportunity - Regional Utilities Operator South Cariboo

Applications are hereby invited for the full-time position of Utilities Operator within the Cariboo Regional District.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: A valid Environmental Operator Certifications commensurate with the Cariboo Regional District facilities for Wastewater Collection Level I, Water Distribution Level I, and Small Water Systems. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in making decisions in the field and in emergency/repair situations. Working knowledge of underground utility systems. The ability to exercise considerable independence of judgement and action in the operation of equipment and during utilities maintenance activities. Training and/or experience in confined space and safe work procedures. Live within 45 minutes of 100 Mile House area to facilitate standby duties. As a condition of continued employment, the incumbent must have and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.  

Wage/Hours of Work: This is a BCGEU position. The current rate of pay is $37.19 per hour and a 35-hour workweek.    A 90-day probationary period will apply. The workweek schedule may vary and therefore the applicant must be able to work weekends, rotating shifts and some overtime.

Worksite Location: 108 Mile Ranch Utility building.
