Two types of directors govern the Cariboo Regional District Board (CRD):
- Twelve Electoral Area Directors elected by rural area voters serving four-year term.
- Four Municipal Directors appointed by their council to serve up to a one-year term.
The Board appoints a Chair and members to serve on regional committees.
The Board has the responsibility to:
- Act in one clear voice for the interests of all residents of the CRD
- Respond to the needs of the many different constituencies within the Regional District
- Determine the appropriate tax consequences for delivering needed services and
- Communicate with taxpayers on providing and delivering services.
The Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District Board of Directors is made up of:
- Twelve CRD Electoral Area Directors
- Four Municipal Directors
- Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Director
