The Alexandria Transfer Station accepts household packaging and paper products in partnership with Recycle BC.
Visit Recycling Council of British Columbia to inquire about where to recycle non-packaging items like used oil, batteries, tires, paint, electronics, etc.
Why does the site need to be attended?
The amount of waste generated at the site has been growing since 2018. In 2023, we managed 50% more waste than in 2018. This is because of increasing use by commercial operators and non-rural residents.
The only way to limit commercial and non-rural usage of the site is with an attendant.
Will the share shed still be available?
Yes. Reusable household items, furniture, and recreational equipment can be dropped off at the site. Clothing, fabrics, and several other second-hand items will not be accepted at the Share Shed and should be directed elsewhere.
