Water Notices and Advisories

Boil Water Advisory – Gloinnszun Crescent

A Boil Water Advisory will be in effect for residents on Gloinnszun Crescent following a scheduled water shutdown required to complete repairs to the water system.

Water service will be shut off April 8 2026 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Once service is restored, the Boil Water Advisory will be in place as a precaution while water quality testing is completed.

During the advisory, residents should bring all water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing food. Alternatively, bottled water may be used.

Residents may notice air in the lines, discoloured water, or increased chlorine levels after service is restored. Running a cold water tap until the water clears is recommended.

The Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until further notice.

The Cariboo Regional District's water systems are tested regularly to ensure they meet public health regulations.

The CRD issues a Boil Water Notice pursuant to a request from the Drinking Water Officer under Section 14 of the Drinking Water Protection Act.

Boil water advisories remain in effect until the water system is contamination-free for two consecutive samples. At that time the Drinking Water Officer will request that the advisory be rescinded.

The CRD works with the local Health Authorities to investigate contaminations.

In order to lift a boil water advisory, the water system has to be without contamination for 2 (two) consecutive samples. In some circumstances, the Health Authority may have other specific conditions that must be met before the advisory is lifted.

Consider using hand sanitizer after washing your hands with tap water.

Boil water for a minimum of one minute before:

  • Drinking (or use an alternate, safe source of water)
  • Cooking (if not boiled)
  • Brushing teeth
  • Washing dishes
  • Washing fruits & vegetables to be eaten raw
  • Watering animals
