To help assist the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) in reducing paper consumption, the CRD requests you submit your application, cover letter, and resume through our online employment application process.
Can I drop off a general resume?
We recommend you only apply for posted competitions. See Current Employment Opportunities for more information. We do not refer back to general resumes for new postings.
A general resume is a resume that can be used to apply for any position or a position that is not currently posted.
Do I need to submit a cover letter with my resume?
Yes, applications without a cover letter listing detailed information regarding relevant qualifications and experience will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered.

When you apply through our website, you will be redirected to a confirmation message after successfully submitting your application. You will also receive an email for your records.
Can I speak to someone about a job opening I saw on your website?
Yes, you may contact Human Resources if you have any questions about a specific competition posted on Current Employment Opportunities.
What does "open until filled" mean?
The term “open until filled” appears on competitions that don't have a closing date. It means the position will remain open and we will continue to accept applications until we select a candidate(s).
If you want to apply for an “open until filled” competition, we only need you to submit your application once in order to be considered.
When do your competitions close?
All of our competitions close at the time and date specified in the job posting. In order to be considered, your application/resume must be received by Human Resources no later than the time posted on the closing date.
How long will the hiring process take?
The hiring process time frame is based on applications received and closing dates. Thank you in advance for your patience!
Will I be contacted whether or not I am short listed?
We thank all applicants for their interest. Only those selected for an interview or test will be contacted. We try to contact short-listed applicants for interviews within 3 weeks of the competition closing date.
How do I find out what stage a competition is at?
We show the status for each competition on Current Employment Opportunities.
Do you accept late applications for job postings?
We do accept applications after the competition has closed; however, your application will be marked late and will not be considered until all other applicants have been reviewed first.
Can I get feedback on a competition for which I was not successful?
We process a high volume of applications every day, so we cannot provide feedback to those who are not interviewed.
Do you do any testing of job applicants?
You will be informed, in advance, of any testing that we might ask you to participate in. For specific positions, we may do skill and/or job-related testing and/or pre-employment testing.
Why do I need a valid driver's license?
Job classifications requiring the employee to drive a vehicle will be indicated in the job posting with the following: 'must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
What does this mean for driver's license holders from another province?
You will be required to provide a driver's abstract from your home province. At a future date, you will be required to convert your current out-of-province driver's license to the equivalent B.C. driver's license class.
