Mock Evacuation Notification Exercise Planned for 150 Mile House Area
Williams Lake, BC – The Cariboo Regional District (CRD), in partnership with Central Cariboo Search and Rescue and the RCMP, will conduct a mock evacuation notification exercise in the 150 Mile House area on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The exercise will take place within the Frontier Estates subdivision and is designed to provide participating agencies with an opportunity to practice emergency notification procedures in a realistic setting.
Residents in the area may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles and personnel during the exercise. There is no danger to the public and no actual emergency is taking place.
As part of the training activity, a limited number of residences may receive a mock evacuation notification and information package. These notifications are for training purposes only and do not indicate an evacuation order or alert.
All participating personnel will be clearly identified and will not request or collect any personal information from residents.
Emergency preparedness exercises are an important part of ensuring local agencies can effectively coordinate and communicate during emergencies. The exercise will help participating organizations test procedures, strengthen partnerships and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
The CRD appreciates the cooperation and understanding of residents as emergency personnel undertake this important training exercise.
