Mock Evacuation Notification Exercise Planned for Tatla Lake Village
Williams Lake, BC – The Cariboo Regional District (CRD), in partnership with West Chilcotin Search and Rescue and the RCMP, will be conducting a mock evacuation notification exercise in the Tatla Lake Village on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The exercise is designed to help emergency responders practice evacuation notification procedures and strengthen emergency preparedness efforts in the region.
Residents may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles and personnel in the area during the exercise. There is no danger to the public and no action is required unless specifically advised as part of the training exercise.
As part of the exercise, a limited number of residences may receive a mock evacuation notification and information package. These notifications are for training purposes only. All personnel involved in the exercise will be clearly identified and will not be asking for or collecting any personal information.
Exercises such as this help emergency response agencies test plans, improve coordination, and identify opportunities to enhance emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
Anyone with questions about the exercise can contact CRD Emergency Program Services at 250-855-8924.
The CRD thanks residents for their cooperation and support as emergency response partners work together to strengthen community preparedness throughout the region.
