Deka Lake Residential Zoning Information and FAQs

The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) has published new information to help answer common questions about zoning regulations in the Deka Lake area.

The information provides an overview of how long-standing zoning regulations apply to properties in the Deka Lake area and explains topics such as permitted land uses, RV use on residentially zoned properties, building permits, planning applications, and the zoning compliance process.

The CRD is also aware that a document titled Fact Sheet – Deka Lake / Sulphurous Lake Area – For the Public Town Hall Meeting – July 15, 2026 has been circulated within the community. This document was not prepared, reviewed or approved by the CRD. Following a review of its contents, the CRD identified a number of statements that do not accurately reflect the applicable bylaws, planning policies and processes. Residents are encouraged to rely on information published by the CRD when seeking information about applicable regulations.

The accompanying Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) have been prepared to address common questions and provide general information about the applicable regulations. As every property is unique, the FAQ is not intended to address every circumstance. Residents with questions about their property or specific situation are encouraged to contact CRD staff.
