Stage 3 Water Restrictions in Effect – 103 Mile Water System

The Cariboo Regional District has implemented temporary Stage 3 Water Restrictions for the 103 Mile Water System.

This precautionary measure follows an unexpected and significant increase in water use over the past 24 hours. Staff are actively investigating the cause of the increased demand and monitoring the system closely.

To help reduce demand and protect the reliability of the water system while the cause of the increased water use is investigated, the following Stage 3 Water Restrictions are now in effect:

  • Odd-numbered addresses may irrigate on Saturdays only.
  • Even-numbered addresses may irrigate on Sundays only.
  • Manual watering is permitted between 6:00–8:00 a.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. on your designated day.
  • Professionally installed automatic irrigation systems may operate for a maximum of two hours between 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on your designated day.

In addition to following the Stage 3 Water Restrictions, residents are encouraged to be mindful of their overall water use wherever possible. Simple actions such as taking shorter showers, running only full loads of laundry or dishes, fixing leaking taps or toilets, and avoiding unnecessary water use can help reduce demand while staff investigate the cause of the increased water use.

We appreciate residents' patience and cooperation. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available, and the restrictions will be lifted as soon as it is appropriate to do so.
