Highlights from the March 20, 2026 Cariboo Regional District Board Meeting

Bouchie Lake Sewer System Feasibility Study
The Board considered the results of the Bouchie Lake Sewer System feasibility study along with feedback gathered through the public engagement process. After reviewing the findings, the Board resolved not to proceed further with planning for a community sewer system in the Bouchie Lake area.

2026–2030 Financial Plan Bylaw
The Board adopted the Cariboo Regional District’s 2026–2030 Five-Year Financial Plan Bylaw. The financial plan outlines funding priorities and supports the delivery of services and capital projects across the region over the next five years.

Water and Sewer Rates Bylaws
The Board adopted updated water and sewer rates bylaws for applicable service areas. These rates support the ongoing operation, maintenance, and long-term sustainability of utility systems.

Horse Lake Water System Loan Authorization
Following a successful Alternative Approval Process, the Board adopted the loan authorization bylaw for the Horse Lake Water System. This enables the CRD to proceed with borrowing of up to $175,000 to support planned system improvements.

Community Grant Support
The Board approved several funding requests through the Year-Round Grant for Assistance program, supporting local organizations, events, and community initiatives across the region. This included funding support for a local meal delivery program and barrel racing events, helping deliver services, support recreation, and strengthen community connections.

The Board also supported a grant application to the Northern Development Initiative Trust for signage improvements at the Mountain Spruce Community Centre, which will help improve visibility and access to the facility.
